What to Do After Your Website Goes Live • Care Guide

Launching your website is a milestone, but it’s not the finish line — a site is something you maintain, not something you set and forget. Here’s what to keep an eye on in the weeks after launch.

Check your forms. Submit a test inquiry through every form on your site (contact, newsletter, checkout if you sell online) and confirm it actually arrives in your inbox. This is the single most common thing that quietly breaks without anyone noticing.

Confirm backups are running. Ask your developer to show you where backups are stored and how often they run. If something goes wrong later — a bad plugin update, a hosting issue — this is what saves you.

Keep plugins and themes updated. Outdated plugins are the most common way sites get compromised. If you don’t want to manage this yourself, this is exactly what a maintenance plan is for.

Watch your analytics in the first month. Not to obsess over numbers, but to catch real problems early — pages nobody is finding, or visitors leaving from the same spot every time. Small adjustments in the first month are far easier than a redesign a year later.

If anything on this list feels overwhelming, that’s normal — it’s also exactly why we build a support window into every project.
